Additional Programs

In addition to regular therapeutic riding lessons, Agapé partners with schools to develop programs that serve as a unique intervention for special needs and at-risk students.

Those programs available are listed. If you are interested in Agapé visiting your school or nursing home, please complete the inquiry or call 317.773.7433.

Mini-Horse Visitation: This program services hospitals, group homes, nursing homes, special events, churches, and schools. Trained personnel bring miniature horses indoors for a special thematic visit that engages each participant with hands-on activities customized to meet your needs.

The Agapé Literacy Project: This program is for first grade students to encourage reading. Using books about horses written for early readers, a miniature horse instructor visits the school classroom ad presents exciting classroom activities. Students are given their own book to read. After the class finishes the book, the class visits Agapé for a special event and receives a second book. This program is excellent for those students learning English as a second language.

Hippotherapy: This program in an occupational treatment strategy that utilizes equine movement to address impairments, functional limitations and disabilities in clients with neuromotor and sensory dysfunction.
