Four-Legged Friends

This program involves pairing Agapé volunteers with our four-legged friends. Once a week, or once a month the volunteer will spend at least an hour with their horse, grooming them, taking them for walks, or giving them grazing time. The only stipulation for this program is that you must volunteer at least 20 hours at Agapé before joining Four Legged Friends at the first level. For level 2, you must volunteer at least 50 hours and have passed the horse handling course. The Four Legged Friends Program Coordinators will meet with you to observe your grooming and horse handling skills before pairing you with a four-legged friend.
We have been offering several in-service training sessions to Four Legged Friends participants to further expand their horse knowledge. We have learned about equine massage, grooming and tacking, and general horse care.
